Keep in mind, if you accidentally flashed the phone with European Galaxy S firmware, they have a home button which seems to have thrown off everything and causes our volume buttons to inverse (so what seems like up is volume down, and vice versa). I will say though, that in the European firmware I am not sure if it was still just volume down and power, as I was very frustrated and swearing a lot trying to get the US firmware to work again…
